This presentation explores the benefits of Melaleuca quinquinervia (Niaouli), the indigenous uses of this remarkable Australian native paperbark tree both in medicine and in the environment.

 

The clinical benefits of this essential oil will be discussed as well as the cosmetic and herbal preparations to maximize the efficacy of the chemical constituents found in this oil. Deby will discuss the use and preparations of this essential oil in the treatment of Herpes Zoster in the elderly. She will provide a case study to emphasize the clinical benefits of this powerful essential oil and why it should be considered when targeting a viral disease with intense nerve pain as seen in the Herpes Zoster virus.
